Foreman, Bo Velasquez—an experienced second generation Operator—gives viewers an up close and personal account of how this particular piece of equipment provides a distinct advantage over other excavators and also provides a little fun on the job—even for those who never before ran this piece of equipment!
Bo puts you behind the controls of the 580, demonstrating the use of the sticks and explaining how the smaller, faster equipment provides more control than a typical excavator. He shows how the 580 saves time by “pressing forward” instead of having to turn around and drive forward. He also explains the friendly competition between himself and his fellow 580 Operators when digging subdivisions, describing how running the 580 leads to fun on the job.
Our video will give you a feel for what it’s like to work with this specialized equipment and why our Operators never want to go back to traditional excavators.
