The Smith family has been at the helm of Diamond S. Company since 1942, laying natural gas pipelines that bring warmth to the Salt Lake Valley and providing livelihoods for local families in and around the Wasatch Valley.
From the beginning, the company has established a family tradition, starting with the four brothers who formed the company (then known as Enoch Smith Sons Company)—Charles, Wallace, Louis, and Enoch Jr.—continuing to the next generation with Enoch Richard Smith and then his children, Enoch, Teresa (Jensen) and Nate.
Now, a new generation is preparing to carry on and build upon the legacy of their ancestors. Hear from Nate’s sons, Brady and Jacob, on how they’re preparing to carry the torch forward and eventually run the company their family has built.
The Smith brothers discuss how they are training and learning the business, the importance of family—their biological family and the generations of workers that have contributed to the success of the company—the role the company has played in helping to build Salt Lake City, and their expectations for the future.
You’ll also hear from proud dad, Nate Smith, on his family philosophy.
