Commitment To Safety
Our uncompromising commitment to safety encompasses the people in the communities where we work and the occupational safety of our crews who do the work.
We are committed to providing a safe, accident-free and injury-free work site and aim to have our employees return home each night in the same condition they arrived in the morning. Our people are our business, and we go above and beyond to keep them safe on the job.
Our Focus on Safety
Equipment
Certain specialized equipment is also required. For example, we utilize a CASE 580 Loader Backhoe for our shallow excavation work. This unique equipment, which is operated by 4 stick controls, requires specialized training if operators have never run one. We follow all rules and regulations to ensure the safe operation of our construction equipment.
Training
In addition to monthly safety meetings and safety incentives, each employee receives safety training specific to their job prior to entering the job site. Some of this includes:
- Pipe fusers are required to have specialized training on the proper installation, joining, and testing of thermoplastic HDPE (high-density polyethylene) natural gas lines.
- Welders must be API 1104 certified and tested to install, replace, or repair the steel pipes that carry natural gas.
- Operators and drivers must demonstrate competence and operational awareness for any type of equipment. Those who are operating specialized equipment, like the CASE 580 Loader Backhoe, require certification.
Additional Safety Measures
In addition to task-specific training and certifications to work with natural gas lines, all employees are required to pass a drug screen and complete training on company policies and safety standards.
